Extreme Exposure
by timMy bike is shown here waiting, patiently, for me to get through the labyrinth to go to the bathroom.
The Labyrinth I am referring to is sort of like a maze. I am out there in the middle of a corn field, so there could be a corn maze. No, Just me in the middle of a field, my back to the wind. Two degrees, with an 11 mph wind, is not the worst, but cold enough for me. Things get cold & shrink. It is kind of a like getting a scared turtle to pop his head out, and then there is the labyrinth of clothes to get through. I have so many layers tucked in and over, under, around. After you peal all your protective guard off, you have to try and get the turtle to pop his head out. All the while you wonder, “Is that a snowmobile I hear coming?” Then you wonder, “It took me 5 minutes to get undone, how fast can I get tucked back in if a snowmobile is coming? Hopefully they are running one of those John Deer sleds from the 70’s. And not something new that buzzes along at 60 mph. I am pretty sure if I can spot there head lights I am going to get exposed. Although as cold as it is, they may not expose much of anything.
Next time, I go riding; I will pick a hay field that has some round bales the farmer has left out. With that much coverage I could do so much more…..
