She was so beautiful. So many people would mention how lovely she was when they saw her in the shop. She was very good at enticing the customers into the shop. She knew she could sit by the door and get people to come in to the store to pet her. She would also gallop to the front of the shop when she heard the door beep cause she knew someone was coming in and that she could get them to give her some love.

After loosing lots of weight we tried very hard to get her strength back. We went to the Family Pet Hospital here in Platteville to bring her back up to speed. Unfortunately she never bounced back to good health. I had to make the hard decision in having Gata put to sleep. Very hard for me with Ambrose leaving in a week, and all else that has changed around here. Our little family has just changed so much. It is hard to comprehend at times.

I would like to thank the Family Pet Hospital for being so caring, and would highly recomend them if anyone in need of very good pet care.

The Gata was grand, the Gata was beautiful. She was La Reina de casa. We will miss her so much.

Recently I have made a connection with a local land owner who is open to the idea of building trails on his property. That is great. Better yet is that his property is only two miles from town. What a wonderful asset for the community. The area is accessible by bike. It is very scenic with a beautiful stream running through it. The area has high potential for being a great destination for trail riding.
I already have my first massive blister from raking in new trails. So far we have only created one mile of trail but there is so much more potential. I am hoping for ten to twelve miles of trails. I will keep you posted with updates on the trail progress.
Right now I am looking for those fabric band aids for my blisters. The plastic ones are worthless.

If you have been reading my blogs, you will remember that earlier in the winter I was collecting bikes to send to New Orleans. To be honest, I had forgotten all about New Orleans. As most people have I am sure. If a subject is not in the Medias best interest for grabbing the attention of the public it is not covered. Let’s face it, to the big media the Katrina – New Orleans soap opera is old news to those selling ad space. Fortunately there are some people like my new friend Merle who have not forgotten. Unfortunately New Orleans has been forgotten about by the main stream.
I received eighteen bikes and I was able to revive fifteen to send to New Orleans. I took so much joy in this project. In my heart knowing each bike could be a catalyst to change some young person’s life. I prayed over each bike in hoping it would carry the person riding safely it to a healthy and happy life.
I was forwarded some photos of the group that received the bikes. I wanted to share with everyone. I have added them in above. I have no idea how to create just a folder for them. So here they are, some very beautiful young people with bikes that I hope will carry them into their future.

The spring fever rush has just started to show up. We got two sunny days last week and all of a sudden people started showing up looking at bikes, buying bikes, and dropping bikes off for repair. Yea! Of course most the shop rats are off on spring break. I am trying to keep up to the madness by myself. Which is keeping me in the shop till late at night. I need one of those house elves like they have in the Harry Potter books. It would have to be a Shop Elf instead of the House breed. I would treat my elf better of course. It would probably be named something like Spocket, Axel, or Nipples. Oh….Ok maybe not Nipples, but you get the point.
After I close the shop it could come out and do some of the bike repairs. Tune ups, flat fixing and maybe even some display work. Hmmm I wonder if there are shop elves with any computer skills. They could update my web site for me. Maybe take care of the Quick Books.
I have heard Gnomes are good at shop work as well. So, If you hear of any shop elves or gnomes looking for a little part time work have them stop by or call, preferably after hours. I will be here.
